You must expect a small amount of algae in a pond because it’s a natural system but if you experience problems caused by excessive string algae or blanket weed then you should consider reducing the amount of feed and ensuring you have a good biological filter that operates 24hrs a day to help remove excess nutrients from the pond. String algae prefers water with high pH so testing your water and reducing your pH will also help.

Your bulb could have blown, it could be dirty or it could need replacing. Check to see that it’s clean and working, make sure it’s not more than 12 months old and keep it on 24/7. If you’re still having problems see your retailer for further advice.

Very Efficient

Very efficient and easy to use. I like the simple streamlined design. I find the suck/stop function quite handy to allow me time to adjust my position while working or move the outflow hose. I have one large pond (1000lt black liner base, contoured) and two small ponds (formed plastic) and this vac works well for all. One thing to note is because it does suck well be prepared to top up your ponds as the water level goes down quickly. It is wise to position the outflow hose carefully as the volume of water that pumps out can overwhelm small garden beds. Over all I am happy with this vac. It is not magic, pond cleaning can be a big task but it works as advertised.

Sucks well but doesn’t suck long enough when on mode that it’s meant to turn off and on every 50secs

Works well when sucking. However on the mode that turns off and no every 50secs to allow the water to empty.
It only sucks for about 20 seconds before still making a noise but no longer sucking till turning off and emptying. So very slow going to clean pond. (Sucking for 20secs and then waiting a minute and 20secs till it sucks again. So not a quick job to do on a big pond!
