Manage this durable outdoor irrigation controller with Hydrawise web-based software from anywhere worldwide using your smart device or web browser. Predictive watering adjusts schedules based on temperature forecast, rainfall probability, wind and humidity to provide maximum water savings while keeping your clients’ landscape healthy and beautiful. Add a simple-to-install flow meter and set up automatic notifications to alert you of broken pipes or sprinklers.
Features:
The Pro-HC controller has a full graphical touchscreen interface, which makes programming with or without Wi-Fi connectivity and manual starting from the controller a breeze.
Daily schedule adjustments, based on local weather data, monitor past, current and forecasted temperature, rainfall, humidity, and wind speed. This allows for adjustments of watering times and schedules to balance water savings with water efficiency for plants.
Monitor your piping and sprinklers with an optional flow meter. Receive automatic alerts when a pipe is broken to prevent property damage.
Pro-HC controllers continuously monitor the electrical current flowing to your solenoid valves. If the current is too high or too low, Hydrawise will alert you and tell you which valve is not working properly. This allows you to correct a failed valve before damage is done to plant materials.
Two general purpose sensor ports can be used for many different functions. Sensor port works with the Hunter HC flow meters, the Hunter Clik sensor range and standard rain and soil sensors to stop irrigation. The sensor ports can also start an irrigation cycle. This allow you to create custom starts based on sensor readings.
All Hydrawise compatible controllers connected to Hydrawise web-based software are EPA WaterSense approved Smart Watering Controller. Hydrawise Predictive Watering™ allows the controller to adjust schedules based on forecasted temperature, rainfall probability, wind and humidity to provide the maximum water savings you come to expect from a Hunter smart controller.

In rare applications, like on a wall under a well covered patio where the space is 100% dry all the time & not exposed to the sun, an indoor controller will continue to operate without issue. But if you’re not sure, we recommend installing an outdoor model. If something does go wrong with your controller due to water damage or the LCD screen failing from sun exposure, the warranty is voided so it’s not worth the risk.
Yes, irrigation controllers typically have a manual function, this will allow you to both operate all zones, or each one individually as you please.
Domestic irrigation controllers will always operate zones one at a time. Even if you try to operate 2 to come on at the same time, the controller will automatically delay the operation of the second zone until after the first zone has finished running.
In some states a rain sensor is mandatory, but regardless it’s something you should include in your irrigation system. Having your system turn on in the middle of a day of rain is not only embarrassing, it’s a terrible waste of water & the overwatering is bad for your garden!
Only just had it installed so can't provide feedback back on use yet. But looking forward to watering from the comfort of my chair as the warmer weather arrives and avoid being bitten by mozzies whilst watering.
Wouldn't use any other controller...
If wifi is available this is the controller we would recommend!
Delivered in great time and works perfect
Having used an HC12 model for 5 years on a modest suburban garden, installing a Hydrawise was a high priority when moving to a large 9,000 sq.m garden already set up with a bore and 14 reticulation zones.
The existing setup was somewhat messy with dual 6 and 8-zone controllers programmed for alternate days. The 24-zone Hydrawise provided the perfect solution with spare zones if needed in the future.
A huge advantage of the wi-fi based control is the ability to remotely start and stop individual zones when testing and making repairs to the sprinklers. Having been used to the previous Hydrawise, the constant walking to and from the shed while testing was the trigger for a dummy spit and immediate online order to Sunshower with express delivery.
One disappointment is that Hunter still haven’t fixed what I consider to be a bug/design fault if you use the option to have a short delay between zones, which is typically 5-6 seconds to allow a slow solenoid valve to close before opening the next one. The problem is that the pump output switches off during the delay period, which defeats the purpose of having the delay as system pressure is lost. Also, the unnecessary switching of the pump increase wear and tear on the contactor and the pump itself.
I can’t understand why Hunter have implemented the inter-zone delay in that way. I have used other controllers which maintain the pump operation during the short delay period which, in my mind, is the only logical way to do it. For the previous house, I designed a small electronic circuit with a relay and capacitors to keep the pump running during the delay period, as several of the solenoid valves needed help to close at the end of each cycle. So far, the valves in the new garden are operating well so I don’t need to use the inter-zone delay feature.
I can’t see any logical reason why the pump should be switched off during the inter-zone delay, but Hunter could easily make that an additional configurable option if it is useful in some situations.
