FAQs
The number of pop-up sprinklers you need depends on the size and shape of your garden, as well as the coverage area of each sprinkler. ‘Head-to-head’ sprinkler placement is best, position sprinklers so that their spray patterns just reach the head of the next for even coverage. For a precise plan, you consult the experts in our design department.
Pop-up sprinklers should be installed so that the top of the sprinkler head is level with the soil. Typically, this means digging a hole deep enough to accommodate the sprinkler’s body, usually around 6–12 inches, depending on the model. Ensuring the pop-up body won’t be chopped off by a passing lawn mower!
The number of pop-up sprinklers you can run per zone depends on your water pressure and flow rate. On average, you can typically run 5-8 sprinklers per zone, but this varies widely, depending on the nozzle selection and water supply.
Pop-up sprinklers and their nozzles typically require a water pressure of 200-400kPa to operate efficiently. However, some models may have specific pressure requirements, so it’s important to check the manufacturer’s recommendations for your particular sprinkler. Thankfully we have all of those specifications listed on each product page!
In most cases pop-up sprinklers, or spray bodies, don’t come with irrigation nozzles, unless specified. This allows you to choose the perfect nozzle for each spray head for your configuration, for even water distribution & maximum efficiency.
Pop-up sprinklers provide efficient and even watering, reduce trip hazards, and maintain a tidy lawn appearance. They are also less likely to be damaged by foot traffic or lawn mowers compared to above-ground sprinklers.
Yes, pop-up sprinklers are ideal for lawns and while less common, can also be used in garden beds. Different nozzle options allow you to adjust spray patterns and coverage to suit various landscape types and planting layouts. The main consideration in garden applications, is ensure your pop-up rises with sufficient clearance of nearby foliage.
Yes you totally can! DIY gardeners successfully install pop-up sprinklers using our installation guides and readily available tools. For more complex systems or larger areas, professional installation may be recommended for optimal results.
Oh no! Not to worry, it’s an easy-enough fix. In this case you will most likely need to replace both an irrigation nozzle & a pop-up body. In this case, unscrew & remove the internals (if you can). Take a photo of the damage, as well as an undamaged unit & send it to us! We can identify a suitable replacement.
If your sprinklers aren’t performing as expected, it’s likely that they’re not getting sufficient water flow. You’ll need to troubleshoot if it’s due to a break or blockage, or you have too many sprinklers on a zone. If it’s too many sprinklers, consider splitting the zone into 2. If seems a little too hard, book a contractor here
